Advertising or is it?

Most of us have been bombarded by advertisements our entire life and have been force fed ideals and morals that most of us do not realize where they come from.  How many of us can recite a slogan or a jingle by heart?  This is a great example of how advertising can imbed itself in our minds without us being aware of the fact. Scary huh?

Personally, there is some advertising that does appeal to myself.  This is usually the case for comedic advertising and sports advertising.  I enjoy these because they are interests of mine, of course their are comedic advertising that is not funny.  When it comes to sports advertising I am more interested in my local teams rather than the sports/celebrity figure that the nation seems to enjoy.  I, like many of my peers today, can easily sit in front of the TV and waste a good four to five hours a day doing nothing. I enjoy more the advertisements that are not so obvious with how they are trying to sell their products. Perfect example is the "Go Daddy" commercials, where Danica Patrick is always "seconds away" from flashing America. It was humorous the first time, I just don't know about the last thousand times it has ran. A little too much, right?

The best form of advertising is the one that no one talks about because when no one knows about it thats when its working best, subliminal advertising.  This type of advertising is done by trying to access the part of the brain that is "unconsious" yet deciphers and stores all of the information that is being relayed, possibly for future use? Who knows. It can be a little frightening just how well subliminal advertising can work without any knowledge of it even taking place. Even more alarming is just what and how many companies are using these powerful methods. Don't believe me do some online research on subliminal advertising, but beware "THEY" could be watching you!
